"I guess the sole reason for (joining) was serving the community in a broader way," he said.Įisenhart initially served through December 1994, then returned from January 2001 to December 2017. At that time, he didn't have any particular knowledge about water and sewer services. He joined the authority in January 1990 at the suggestion of a friend. It serves 2,400 water customers and 4,900 wastewater customers.Įisenhart, 78, considered resigning from the five-member board two years ago, but he wanted to continue overseeing construction work at a pumping station in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., until it was finished. The municipal authority manages water and sewer systems in Washington Township. "We're a relatively small board with a big area of responsibility," he said. The Washington Township (Pa.) Municipal Authority recently recognized Fred Eisenhart for his 22 years of service to the township's water and sewer customers.Įisenhart stepped down from his role as chairman of the authority in December.
